Από το Ολοκαύτωμα των Εβραίων της Ελλάδας, Ιωάννινα, 25 Μαρτίου 1944, όλη η σειρά των 19 φωτογραφιών

Ηταν ημέρα Σάββατο και Εθνική Εορτή, 25η Μαρτίου. Μέσα σε λίγες ώρες, μια πανάρχαιη ιστορική κοινότητα εξοντώθηκε ολοκληρωτικά. Τα γεγονότα και το χρονικό μπορείτε να τα βρείτε σε βιβλία και στο διαδίκτυο. Εμείς θα προσθέσουμε δυο στοιχεία μόνο:

– Η σύλληψη και ακολούθως η αποστολή με τρένα των περίπου 1.960 Εβραίων των Ιωαννίνων δεν θα ήταν τόσο επιτυχής και τόσο γρήγορη, αν δεν υπήρχε η βοήθεια κάποιων ελληνικών υπηρεσιών προς τους Γερμανούς, όπως λ.χ. η Αστυνομία/Χωροφυλακή. Αναφέρεται σε πολλές πηγές, ακόμα και σε εκθέσεις των Ναζί, και γνωρίζουμε σήμερα πως πρόκειεται για γεγονός. Εγιναν συσκέψεις, ακόμη και λίγο πριν χαράξει εκείνη η ημέρα, για τον καταμερισμό ενστόλων στα σημεία του κυκλωτικού μπλόκου.

– Λίγη ώρα μόνο μετά που έφυγε και το τελευταίο φορτηγό, ήδη από το μεσημέρι της ίδιας μέρας, υπήρχαν αναφορές για πλιάτσικο στις περιουσίες των ΕΒραίων συμπατριωτών μας από τους Χριστιανούς της πόλης.

Εδώ μπορείτε να δείτε ολοκληρωμένη την σειρά των 19 φωτογραφιών από εκείνο το πρωινό στα Γιάννενα. Θα προτείναμε στον αναγνώστη να μην προσπεράσει στα γρήγορα τις εικόνες, αλλά να σταθεί για λίγα δευτερόλεπτα στα πρόσωπα των ανθρώπων. Πολύ λίγοι επέζησαν, γύρω στους 110 από τους συνολικά περίπου 1.960.

Θα αναρωτηθεί κανείς, για ποιο λόγο θα πρέπει σήμερα ν’ ασχολούμαστε με ιστορίες 70 χρόνων. Οπωσδήποτε, είναι η ώρα της πνευματικής αντεπίθεσης (κλικ εδώ), όμως θα πρέπει να προσέξουμε ένα λεπτό σημείο. Κοιτάξτε το μικρό κοριτσάκι που περιμένει να το ανεβάσουν στο φορτηγό, και κρατάει από το χέρι ένα ακόμη μικρότερο νήπιο, όταν γυρίζει το προσωπάκι του για να δει τον φακό της κάμερας και τον Γερμανό που φωτογραφίζει. Κάτα πάσα πιθανότητα, ήταν η τελευταία φωτογραφία της πολύ σύντομης ζωής του. Δεν είχε κάνει τίποτα. Οπως δεν είχε κάνει τίποτα, επίσης, και η κοπέλα που κλαίει και σπαράζει στη μέση του δρόμου (λέγεται ότι ίσως είναι η μόνη από την οικογένειά της που επέζησε, γύρισε στην Ελλάδα, εγκαταστάθηκε στην Αθήνα, παντρεύτηκε, έκανε οικογένεια και πέθανε πριν λίγα χρόνια).

Το 2010, η Marcia Haddad Ikonomopoulos (διευθύντρια του μουσείου Kehila Kedosha Janina Museum, που βρίσκεται στη Νέα Υόρκη) κατόρθωσε να βρει την ταυτότητα της κοπέλας. Ηταν η Fani Haim (Svolis), γεννημένη το 1925, δηλαδή 19 ετών στην φωτογραφία. Επέζησε από τα στρατόπεδα θανάτου, η μοναδική από την οικογένειά της, παντρεύτηκε Χριστιανό, κι ευτύχησε να γίνει γιαγιά προτού πεθάνει το 2008. Ο Γιώργος Μάστορας είναι απο τα παλαιότερα μέλη της ναζιστικής συμμορίας. Το ‘Μάστορας’ είναι ψευδώνυμο. Το πραγματικό του όνομα είναι Μισιάκας. Βασικός αρθρογράφος της ναζιστοφυλλάδας, θεωρείται κάτι σαν ‘ιδεολογικός’ καθοδηγητής της οργάνωσης, και ήλθε πρόσφατα στη δημοσιότητα, επειδή σε μια φωτογραφία φορούσε μπλουζάκι με το σήμα των SA. Εδώ βλέπουμε μια σειρά φωτογραφιών οι οποίες είχαν διακινηθεί γύρω στο 2003 σε φόρουμ συζητήσεων κ.λπ., με το συγκρότημά του, τους Iron Youth, που είναι το πρώτο χρονολογικά (ιδρύθηκαν το 1997) και το πιο φημισμένο ίσως συγκρότημα του NS-WP-εθνικοσοσιαλιστικού χώρου. Καθαρά χιτλερικοί, απόλυτα αφοσιωμένοι στον εθνικοσοσιαλισμό και στη Χρυσή Αυγή, δεν χάνουν ευκαιρία να δηλώνουν τον θαυμασμό τους για τον Χίτλερ, την προσήλωσή τους στη ναζιστική συμμορία, την απέχθεια στον Χριστιανισμό (σαν ‘εβραιοϊουδαϊκό μίασμα’) και την στράτευσή τους στο ‘κίνημα’ των Αρίων συνεχιστών των Waffen-SS. Σημαντική λεπτομέρεια, δεν δίνουν συναυλίες· απ’ την αρχή επρόκειτο μόνο για συγκρότημα του studio. Από συνεντεύξεις τους (μία είχε φιλοξενηθεί και στο παρθενικό πρώτο τεύχος του ναζιστικού παρακλαδιού Blood & Honour Hellas, Μάιος 1999), μαθαίνουμε ότι ο Μάστορας-Μισιάκας έχει κι ένα τρίτο όνομα, εντός του γκρουπ, ‘Qualiaron‘, ενώ οι τίτλοι των δίσκων τους δεν αφήνουν καμία αμφιβολία για τον ναζιστικό προασανατολισμό τους: ‘Durch das Volk – Mit dem Volk – Fur das Volk’ ο πρώτος (1998), ‘Respect/Defend/Create’ ο δεύτερος (2001) και ‘Faith Is Stronger Than Fire’ (2005) ο πιο πρόσφατος. Πληροφοριακά, τα ψευδώνυμα των 4 άλλων μελών είναι/ήταν Avaris, Spartan, Viking και Werewolf -πιο ναζιστικά δεν γίνεται.

A basic bibliography about the subject ‘SOE activities in Greece’, containing books that are common both in English and Greek literature

What’s in this list:
I’ve tried once to make a list of all the books about SOE activities in Greece written by British. Well, this was a difficult task for me, since my access to UK published books was limited.
On the other hand, making a similar list with the Greek books on this subject was very easy for me, since I am studying the Greek literature about the German Occupation, the Greek National Resistance and the following Civil War for over 25 years.

I cross-checked these two lists in order to find out which books were common.
And here’s the result.

All books written by British and then translated into Greek,
and all books written by Greeks and then translated into English.
Not all books are 100% SOE related, but all of the them contain critical material and lots of references on SOE, agents and BLO activities.

As you can see, there are more titles at the end of the list about Crete and/or the Battle of Crete (May 1941), and there is also Tim Todd’s collection, as a special feature.

I call this list ‘a basic bibliography’ because I know very well that there will never be ‘a *complete* list‘ on any subject; there are always titles (or papers or articles) missing.
But I think a good 90something per cent was achieved.

Not sure if that was actually a real SOE patch, or even if there was one at all, but there’s not anything else.
